Partnerships for Public Engagement (from EPSRC)
'Partnerships for Public Engagement' (PPE) projects, funded by EPSRC, offer a wonderful opportunity for academics to showcase their work to the public in an interesting way. The funding gives academics the chance to do a vast range of activities, from producing web based materials through to creating a full scale touring workshop of exhibits for schools and science festivals.

In many cases it is useful for the academic team to have partners in the project that have experience in public engagement. FifeX has worked in this capacity on a number of projects so far. We would like to work on more projects and can provide assistance in a number of ways:

• Planning the project - FifeX has experience in public outreach and can provide and develop ideas and concepts for your project including budgeting and planning realistic timescales and audience numbers.
• Developing exhibits and exhibition material - This is the main area of our work, and we are particularly experienced at working with Universities and developing interactive exhibits based on University level research.
• Taking the project to the public - Running your project is another area where FifeX can be helpful. With our contacts and vast experience with transporting exhibits and exhibitions, we can relieve a lot of the stress and strain.
• Evaluating the project - FifeX has good experience in evaluating outreach programmes and has worked with a number of professional evaluators in previous projects.

Undertaking large public outreach programmes can be daunting, particularly if it is a new experience but we would be delighted to be involved this type of work and would welcome any enquiries - even if they are simply at the 'idea' stage!
