Design-Create Services - Software Design
Many products and exhibits nowadays contain software of one sort or another. FifeX has a history of producing reliable and interesting software for its exhibits.

We write programmes in a variety of languages and usually adapt to suit the client's needs. FifeX also provides all of its own IT equipment (where required) and so can match the specification of computer hardware to the software perfectly to ensure hassle-free operation.

Software for exhibits is closely linked with the IT requirement as it all has to work together to ensure that users are kept away from the main computer interface. Software techniques in combination with hardware choices can be used to prevent users from pressing buttons like 'ctrl' and 'alt'.

We strive to make our software as customisable as possible. Usually we make as many settings as possible changeable, through a variety of techniques, so that products can be optimsed (and updated) for use by the client.

Where possible, we also like to maintain our exhibits and products using remote desktop software - this means that in the event of a problem, we can immediately login and resolve the issues without costly visits to the client. This also allows us to upgrade exhibits where required.

Finally, although most clients prefer to do things in-house, we can offer software backup facilities too, which ensure that everything is stored and protected off-site.

Previous FifeX software apps, have been written in VB6, VB.net, java, C++, C# and python but we're always willing to explore other options if that's not enough!
