Tripping the Light Fantastic is FifeX's award winning science workshop / show.

Kitted out with FifeX exhibits and staffed with expert science communicators, the show has been a success wherever it has appeared.

In the UK, the show has been featured in schools and festivals up and down the country. The workshop is an outreach project funded by EPSRC. The aim is to take University research out to schools and show people what our leading scientists are doing from day to day.

Tripping the Light Fantastic explores some basics of light, force and colour before putting all the ideas together to look at the phenomenon of 'Optical Trapping' with one of the world experts in this field, Prof. Kishan Dholakia.

Having myself attended one of your workshops I can understand why they enjoyed the popularity and recognition they did, and I make this statement based on my experience as SASOL SciFest Director dating back to the Festival's launch in 1997.
