Arteriosclerosis A simple demonstration of one of the consequences of loss of arterial elasticity.
Namely that the arteries become subject to greater stresses due to increased pressure surges and that this may contribute to heart attacks and strokes.
Blood 'spurting' out of this interactive exhibit enables
the user to see the difference between an 'artery' that is in a normal
condition and one that has lost its elasticity. Users can see how this
affects the blood flow and also feel the difference between the two
'areteries' as the normal one pulses slightly while the blood is flowing.
