'Climate Cops'
An award winning programme aimed at encouraging environmental awareness.
The brief was to create a suite of desktop interactives that would compliment 'Climate Cops'; a new multi-media resource aimed at pupils aged from 7-11. The interactives had to be robust, transportable and intuitive to use.
FifeX created 4 interactives:
- Hand Generator - allowing users to appreciate 'what is energy?'
- Wind Turbine - experiment the effects of increasing the number of vanes, the size, shape and weight of each vane and finally the orientation
- Water Power - demonstration tool to show how we can harness the force of water to produce electricity
- Transformer Station - step-up / step-down transformer
We also refurbished and repaired some existing older exhibits including a water power exhibit by incorporating a speed control for the
water pump thus allowing users to correlate the wheel
speed to the amount of energy it produces.
Details on the award-winning show can be found on the Climate Cops website.
