Seeing Through Things!
The latest exhibits developed by FifeX were made for the Millimetre Wave Group in the Physics Dept. at University of St Andrews.

The exhibits are part of a larger exhibition on millimetre waves and their applications. The three exhibits have been designed for part of a touring workshop where the users can investigate through which materials you can 'see' using different wavelengths.

Each exhibit houses a transmitter and receiver and a gap in between. The reading from the receiver is displayed on a meter on both sides of the exhibit.

Three wavelengths are used on these exhibits: visible, Infrared and millimetre waves.

Users can put materials between the transmistter and receiver on each one and see how they affect the reading on the meter. In this example they can discover the range of materials through which millimetre waves can pass.
