FifeX Compact Colour Mixer

This is a great device for small groups of students to use in teams.

The FifeX Compact Colour Mixer (CCM) was developed as a compact complement to the FifeX Colour Mixer (FCM). The Compact Colour Mixer is for use by students in the classroom, allowing them to explore and develop hypotheses from their observations. They can then contribute to a plenary session with confidence, as the whole class participates and guides a demonstration using the FCM.

The device includes three superbright LEDs controlled by individual sliders on the side of the unit. On the top, two grooves allow the user to insert filters, diffusers, pinholes and slits to modify and mix the light output.

The kit will allow users to:

• Investigate colour vision and colour mixing
• Demonstrate the primary colours of light and explain the behaviour of dyes and inks
• Explore additive colour mixing
• Test absorption and transmission properties of coloured filters.

With its own plugtop power supply, it is easy to set up and very low maintenance, from storage to working demonstration in seconds!
