FifeX LED Array
FifeX's second school product, released in 2005, is the FifeX LED Array. This simple piece of kit allows for interesting discussion about colour and wavelength as well as allowing for a number of interesting experiments to be performed by school students.
Aside from appearing in a number of outreach science
shows and touring exhibitions, the product has already been a huge success
in schools and will be marketed for the first time in the USA in 2007.
The LED Array can be used to:
- Calculate the wavelength of any colour LED
- Measure voltages across each LED using the simple connection points
- Make an accurate estimate of Planck's constant
- View first and second order fringes with a diffraction grating
